Position: Activity Aide

Location: Honolulu, Hawaii

Experience: Long term care and/or group activities experience preferred; Arts or Crafts background preferred; CNA / Nurse Assistant background preferred

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; College degree is a plus

Type: Full-time; Temporary

Schedule: 3 weekdays + the weekend -- 8:30am-5:00pm

Pay: $18/hr

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking an Activity Aide to join our growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Assist in the orientation, planning, and innovation of volunteers into programs.
• Ensure residents are treated with respect and dignity, recognizing individual needs and encouraging independence.
• Completes appropriate paperwork and reports regarding resident participation in activities. Ensures notes are descriptive of the services provided and the resident’s response/participation.
• Follows established universal precautions, safety and sanitation protocols, safe food handling practices and regulations. This includes proper clean-up, washing, storing of items, and disposal of personal protective equipment.
• Passionately motivate and serve residents of varying cognitive and physical abilities.
• Coordinate with other departments when needed to implement program.
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors and guests.
• Other duties as required.

Position Requirements:

• Maintain annual TB and PE requirements as to not allow them to lapse/expire.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software applications.
• Strong interpersonal communications skills verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated use of team approach in the work environment.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to facilitate proper communication with others.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
