GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
The Quality Materials Coordinator works in the Quality Department in a self-directed capacity. They are responsible for ensuring quality and conformance to specification for ingredients, packaging, and for hold inventory. They must act as a leader in quality for the plant. They set the example for other employees to follow. The candidate will be trained by the Quality and Materials staff and will be expected to perform all assigned tasks. They will ensure a quality product is produced and will focus on continuous improvement in the scope of their role. This position also has accountability for Kraft Heinz Management System FSQ standards as outlined in the Claussen Woodstock accountability document.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Presentation:
Represents and projects the Quality Department in a positive manner.
They will represent the department in various meetings within the plant and with
outside vendors.
2. Leadership/Teamwork:
Must be self-motivated and be able to work without close supervision.
Maintains a consistent, high awareness, and importance on safety. Lead by example.
Perform monthly safety scans and takes initiative in corrective action.
Must perform quality audits on the floor and on incoming materials / packaging.
Professionally/respectfully works with employees.
Must know, understand, and support all plant policies.
Must regularly communicate with production employees, supervisors, quality
technician, brine maker, Materials Manager, and the Quality Manager in performing
duties and solving problems.
3 Training:
Assist in training and communication to employees on quality issues/procedures.
Must complete training as assigned in areas of quality and safety.
4. Organizational/Communication/Clerical Skills:
Must perform basic computer skills including accessing procedures & forms, sending
email, and data entry.
The candidate will be trained in SAP and Infinity Quality Suites programs.
Must perform collection, filing, and verification duties associated with Quality
documents in a timely manner.
5. Technical Quality :
Must operate Lab Equipment and use chemicals safely as needed.
Must review COAs against specification for incoming materials.
Must conduct quality tests as assigned.
Must prepare chemical solutions used in lab tests.
Must understand and follow quality policies and procedures. Know how to find
quality standards when questions arise.
Read, understand, and follow product, ingredient, and packaging specifications.
Must audit and report discrepancies in hold inventory daily.
Must submit vendor quality notifications as applicable.
Resample and retain unacceptable product, and assist in rework.
Perform all other duties assigned by management.
6. Sanitation:
Perform basic sanitation duties in the lab.
EDUCATION/JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School Diploma, GED.
Strong math skills.
Basic computer skills
Must be able to communicate fluently in English and possess a basic understanding Spanish.
