PVI’s Rosener House is an adult day center looking for a creative and compassionate activity professional to join our team!

We offer an engaging recreation day program for older adults living with disabilities both physical and cognitive; including, dementia such as Alzheimer’s disease along with health and supportive services to provide compassionate person-centered care.
As a valued member of our team and under the supervision of the program manager, the Activity Leader works to provide recreational, social, educational activities in a busy, lively, positive environment in a state-of-the-art day center for participants. This includes leading movement exercises, arts & crafts, sensory stimulation, gardening, games, and many different avenues for musical expression. Creativity, a sense of humor, enthusiasm, and patience are required, as is sensitivity to the needs of older adults with challenges.
Must be a team player with the skill to lead large and small group activities, have the physical ability to assist participants, follow written and oral directions, multi-task and prioritize. The activity leader engages and empowers participants to participate in small and large groups as well as assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) as needed. This position offers opportunity to develop skills in areas of communication, gerontology, event planning, recreational and occupational therapies, music, dementia care, health care and more!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following:
- Treat participants respectfully, demonstrate appropriate communication skills and behavior management techniques
- Provide compassionate and quality care and assistance to program participants
- Motivate participants to engage in activities offered at center based on individual choice
- Plan and Implement daily activities
- Serve daily meals and become familiar with participants and diet restrictions
- Occasionally assist with toileting and assistance with meals
- Work with the team to maintain calm, positive, joyful environment

Founded in 1947, Peninsula Volunteers, Inc (PVI) is a community-based, non-profit organization that develops and administers programs and services for the aging population of the mid-peninsula region, providing over 1,000 hot meals every week to the home bound through Meals on Wheels, and touching over 4500 households through our programs at Little House, The Roslyn G. Morris Activity Center and Rosener House Adult Day Services. With a budget of $5M, PVI has led the nation in developing programs to support the welfare of the older adult members of our community. It is supported by private philanthropy, public grants and fees.
