The Early Childhood and Family Support Division (ECFSD) works with community providers across the state and is home to many early childhood and family support programs including, but not limited to childcare; serving children with developmental delays; supporting families through nutrition education and support, maternal child health, home visiting, and child abuse prevention efforts. ECFSD strives to assure that children, youth, and families are healthy and thriving.

This position serves as an Administrative Assistant for one of the bureaus in the ECFSD and reports to a Bureau Chief. The position is responsible for developing and establishing office management and administrative support systems, procedures, and services, including but not limited to electronic, verbal, and written communications and correspondence, data/records management, forms and templates, supply and equipment inventories, event coordination, travel arrangements, and support for meetings.

This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.

What you can offer us

  • Knowledge of office management practices and procedures, and confidentiality procedures including HIPPA regulations.
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and skill in publishing and graphic design software.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills demonstrated with providing customer service and developing and maintaining long-term professional relationships.
  • Organization skills with the ability to prioritize, adapt, meet deadlines, multitask with people and work.
  • Meet minimum qualifications:
    • High School or equivalent, and two (2) years office administration experience.
    • Other combinations of directly related education/experience may be considered.
    • Associate degree in in Office Administration, Office Technology, Business Administration or
    • a related field or related degree preferred but not required.
