Job Summary:

onsemi is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to IPS (Industrial Power Solutions) business unit, one of the fastest growing business units within the company. As an Application Engineer located in Phoenix, Arizona, you will have the opportunity to work dynamically with global team members to grow the IPS business while establishing technical expertise in various power electronics applications.

Performance Objectives:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

• Perform various tests of power semiconductor devices such as IGBT, diode, SiC diode, SiC MOSFET in discrete or module package to quantify their performances.

• Provide application support to customers, Field Application Engineers, and Sales.

• Design, build, and test demo/evaluation boards

• Evaluate new products and competition parts in application environments.

• Perform loss and junction temperature simulation

• Create application notes and technical articles to promote discrete or module products.

• Collaborate with module design engineers, device engineers, package engineers, product engineers to overcome technical challenges, and with marketers to meet business objectives.

• Actively participate in creating new product ideas with other engineers and marketing

• Train Field Application Engineers so that they can skillfully promote discrete and module products for industrial applications.

  
  

Requirements :

• At least Master of Science degree

• Knowledge or experience in solar, UPS, EV charger, motor drive application.

• Ability to make logical decisions and enjoy solving problems.

• Ability to organize tasks based on the priorities.

• An active team player.

• Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally ~10% of the time.

• Good English communication skills.

• Business oriented mind.
