What Will You Be Doing?
As a member of the Microsoft Xbox Advocate team, you will focus on providing personalized, predictive, and proactive support to Xbox customers across all gaming endpoints. Customers are at the heart of everything we do and your ultimate goal will be to deliver gamer happiness through empathy and customer obsession.
What Are We Looking For?
- Students who are patient communicators and comfortable speaking with people over the phone
- Students who are responsible and able to handle a professional job in a business environment–this includes punctuality/attendance expectations, receptive to consistent feedback and coaching, and adaptability with a positive attitude, etc.
- Students who are able to work at least 20 hours per week – with the opportunity to work up to 30 hours per week during the school year and up to 39 hours during school breaks, (subject to our business needs)
- Students who are able to work year round – including the school breaks including summer and winter break
Perks of Our Positions
- Tuition Assistance – We’re 100% behind our mission of helping you graduate with less debt
- Future Career Building – EAW students have the unique opportunity to work with XBOX while in college, creating a leg up on potential summer internships or full-time employment with our partners after you graduate
- Student-Friendly Environment – Everyone we employee on this program is a student, usually from ASU or a near-by college, creating a supportive community that understands the life of a working student (plus it’s a great place to make friends)
- Student-Centric Schedule – We will always work around your class schedule to ensure you never have to work while you’re supposed to be in class
- Promotions – EAW offers a variety of student leadership positions in multiple departments like recruiting, IT, training, etc. as we love giving our students the chance to move up and grow into different positions
- Vibrant Culture – We love having a vibrant student culture which we reflect in your work space - including spacious sit or stand desks, a ‘campfire’ turf spot for huddles and meetings, as well as team-building board games
- Location – We’re located right off of Mill Avenue and are only a 15 minute walk from Memorial Union
What’s Not So Perky About Our Positions
- We have strict attendance and punctuality expectations – this is a professional job and we’ll hold you to that
- Microsoft holds our students to a high standard of customer service – meaning you’ll have high metrics that we’ll work with you to meet
- No one calls or chats into technical support when things are going great - occasionally you’ll need to assist a frustrated customer through directions on how to trouble shoot their concern and calls are generally 30-45 minutes long
- Since this is a phone/chat position, you may be sitting down for the majority of your shift, ranging from 2 to 8 hours
- Not only do we work around your class schedule, but we also work around all of our students class schedules – this means we don’t always have the ability to work around other obligations (club meetings, social events, second jobs, internships, etc.) and expect you to make this job a primary part of your life (second to school – of course)
- We’re a PCI Compliant Area – meaning that in your work space you won’t be able to have any paper, pens, electric devices like cell phones or smart watches – but you will have access to those personal items on breaks or lunches
