The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hotel is located in the heart of Rancho Mirage and is a great location for business and pleasure. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual for a Breakfast Associate and Room Attendant. The work environment is fun, challenging, and extremely rewarding for successful candidates:
Job Description for Breakfast Attendant:
· To assist guest efficiently, courteously, and professionally in all Continental
Breakfast functions
· Maintain brand standards of service, hospitality, and food safety and sanitation
· The role of a Breakfast Champion
· Provide the highest quality of service to the customers at all times
· Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome
· Use guests' names in all interactions
· Promptly respond to all guest-related concerns including but not limited to complaints and special requests
· Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures
· Cross trained in front desk operations
· Keep maintenance personnel informed of all maintenance needs
· Proper uniform must be worn at all times in accordance with hotel policy
and brand standards
· Personal cleanliness and neat appearance are required
· Shoes must be low heeled and have heels and toes closed
· Practice safety standards at all times
· Be able to move miscellaneous items weighing up to 25 lbs
· Inform property management if you are unable to meet this requirement so they can determine if a reasonable accommodation can be made
· Associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
· Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may from time to time be established by the hotel is essential to the successful performance of this position
· Prepare, manage, and break down a complete Continental Breakfast according to brand standards
· Ensure freshness of products through proper rotation of stock
· Prepare all food items and equipment for display ensuring that proper sanitation standards and procedures are practiced at all times
· Ensure that all local health code requirements are met
· Wash hands thoroughly with anti-microbial soap and water for 20 seconds before beginning or returning to work with food or utensils
· Use disposable gloves, tongs, or other dispensing devices when handling food
· Always store glass containers on a lower shelf below food and paper products
· Ensure all toxic and chemical materials are properly segregated and stored away from food, food equipment and paper products.
· Date and label all food received at the hotel
· Approved hair restraints must be worn when handling and/or serving food products
· Ensure continental breakfast offering is only available during times posted
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of breakfast prep area
· Assist in cleaning rooms or laundry during peak periods or when insufficient staff is present
· Assist the front desk in processing guest check-ins, checkouts, or any other requests.
· Associates must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook
· Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned, of which the associate is capable
Job Requirements:
· 1+ years of Front Desk/breakfast experience in a branded, quality hotel preferred
· Prior experience working on property management system a plus
· Organizational skills, multi-task and detail-oriented.
· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, a team player
· Excellent oral, verbal, and written communication skills
· Problem Solver - Skilled in handling guests issues and resolving them
· Professional Appearance and excellent attendance and punctuality
· Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays
· Has a great personality and is comfortable chatting and building relationships with the guests
· Is professional in business and has a sense of urgency
· is responsible and reliable at getting to work in the early hours
