L'Auberge Carmel, the acclaimed Relais & Chateaux hotel, and its Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant, Aubergine, are looking for a new addition to their team. We are interested in team members who are passionate with a constant focus on guest satisfaction.
Come join our exclusive team while we provide exemplary service in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. Positions are scheduled from 6:30 am to 12:00/3:00 pm.
We are looking for an experienced part-time and full-time breakfast/prep cook. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Attention to detail
- A strong work ethic
- A passion for creating high-quality breakfast dishes
- Proper food handling and safety procedures
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
- High motivation and a team player attitude
- The ability to communicate effectively in English
- 2-3 years of Breakfast or other Line Cook experience
Job Objective: Prepare, season, and cook food dishes for breakfast, employee meals, or dinner service dependent on hours.
Key Areas of Accountability:

Orders supplies based on need or as directed. -
Maintains all sanitation and nutritional practices followed by each kitchen employee. -
Ensures food is prepared according to the exact requirements of the recipes while ensuring that the food presentation is maintained with a commitment to quality. -
Committed to supervising the smooth operation of the breakfast kitchen. -
Requires a commitment to detail both verbally and non-verbally in food production and communication with co-workers. -
Ensures there is a continual flow of internal communication with both the meal preparation staff and the serving staff to promote team-building practices. -
Identifies and determines the best course of action for any issues relevant to the position as well as looks at ways to incorporate changes for the benefit of the staff. -
Determines how to best achieve the goal of not only meeting the hotel’s specifications regarding the presentation of all food prepared but exceeding the outlined commitment to quality. -
Ensures the customer’s dietary restrictions are followed in food preparation. -
Adhere to and promotes the Relais and Chateaux Mission Statement/Objectives. -
Adhere to and promote the Mirabel Hotel and Restaurant Group Service standards.
