Job Description Medical Assistant
8:00am – 4:30pm – please arrive no later 15 minutes prior to 1stpatient.
Subject to change due to patient scheduling
This position may change depending on available staffing. Would like you to be versed in the following duties;
Overall Primary Duties
- Provide patients with an outstanding patient experience
- Morning duties include turning on lights, TV's
- Printing schedules as needed
- View schedule ahead of time to be prepared for the day
- Ensure that treatment rooms are ready for the day’s appointments including supplies, literature
- Take blood pressure on all new vein consults, input intial patient data into EHR
- Take pictures of all consults and patients as asked.
- Be knowledgeable of all procedures and provide patient education
- Be knowledgeable and comfortable with “insurance talk” and quoting self-pay pricing
- Proficient in assisting in the set-up of procedures
- Assist in surgical procedures
- Obtain consents for procedures
- Turn the room over for the next patient
- Answer phones according to office policy
- Be knowledgeable of the scheduling policies
- Ensure all paperwork has been completed prior to patient being placed in exam room
- Field phone calls – direct any medical questions to RN’s or physicians
- Assist in ordering supplies
- Assist in sterilizing instruments
- End of day duties:
- Turn off lights, TV's, and have exam rooms clean and ready for the next day
