Ventura Orthopedics is currently recruiting for an experienced Certified Medical Assistant for our Thousand Oaks Clinic.

This individual would be responsible for providing quality care for patients under the supervision of the physician. This is a great role for someone who is seeking a challenging career by learning innovative techniques, while working for a great company.

We are seeking an individual who thrives in fast-paced work environments to support clinical staff. The right candidate will maintain precision and organization in the midst of a constantly changing workflow, as well as present a professional face for the company.

Must be well organized, able to multi-task, work independently and as a team, have a pleasant and positive attitude and great communication skills. This candidate must be a team player and assist with caseload of other MAs as required.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Under a physician's direction, assists with procedures, including wound care and fracture reductions as advised by physician; Prepares and applies orthopedic appliances, including durable medical equipment such as pre-operative braces, crutches and other soft goods; Conducts specialized measurements for custom brace fitting; Responsible for coordinating collection of patient data as required for billing of specialty equipment; Assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment; Patient triage, data entry into our EMR system, assisting providers with suture and staple removal, bandage changes, injections; Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school diploma; Completion of Accredited Medical Assistant Program; CMA certification upon hire or within six months of hire; Current CPR at hire, TB upon hire or within six months of hire

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Knowledge and experience in a surgical/orthopedic specialty practice

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Prepare medical supply inventory list

-Prepare, monitor, and maintain equipment

-Assists physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patient

-Educate patient/family about diagnostic procedures and protocol

-Greet patients and prepare them for physician examination

-Screen patients for appropriate information

-Instruct patients in collection of samples and tests

-Maintain/review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information

-Record tests and examination results in patient charts electronically

-Maintain patient confidentiality

-Schedule referrals and tests

-Perform other related duties as directed or required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
