We are seeking a Child Caregiver to join our Great & Small department. This position is Temporary Part Time, 20 hours per week and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package -or- a 13% pay differential in lieu of benefits. - Education:
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Licensure/Certification:
- Must have current first aid and CPR training. Will provide training if needed, to be completed within 90 days of hire.
- Must have State Food Handler’s Card, or obtain within 30 days.
- Must be Teacher-Qualified according to Child Care Division Rules and Regulations for Certified Centers
- Must have an Oregon two hour certificate in Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, or obtain training within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must have ore be willing to obtain within 30 days certificate through the Early Learning Division – Office of Child Care course titled “Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety”.
- Must have or be willing to obtain within 30 days the "Safe Sleep for Oregon's Infants" course completion certificate.
- Must complete any new training requirements from the Oregon Department of Education, Early Learning Division mandatory courses, within the specified time frames, per adjustments in Certified Child Care Center Rules and Regulations.
- Experience:
- Six months experience in early childhood education preferred
- Experience with using every day technology tools (e.g. email, spreadsheets, word processing, voicemail, internet / intranet) to access, organize and store job-related information.
- Be enrolled in the Professional registry.
- Step 5 or greater on The Oregon Registry for childcare workers preferred.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Requires thinking skills, good judgment and the ability to work under close supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment, know when to ask for help and take appropriate action.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to work independently as needed within a classroom setting, maintaining all program elements and following all licensing and SPARK standards.
