Coconut Shucker (training provided) Job at Zumapoke & Lush Ice
Aloha! We are looking for 2-3 people to work the San Diego County fair with us...coconut shucking! We are "The Coconut Guy" a mobile food company that tours fairs shucking coconuts with a machete from a VW Van. Check us out on Instagram at @realcoconutguy. We will be at the fair from June 5th - July 5th, so that would be the length of the job, but we also have other fairs you would be welcome to join us at (Sacramento, Grass Valley, Albuquerque and Phoenix). We will provide training on the machete, but also have a coco jack available that is easy to use and completely safe.
In addition to coconut shucking, duties would include opening coconuts from their boxes and wrappers, and maybe cashiering. The fair runs Wednesdays-Sundays, so you would have mon/tue off each week. It is an outside job, so you would need to be able to work in the heat, stand on your feet the whole shift, and be able to lift up to 30lbs. You must also be able to get to and from the job each day with reliable transportation (we can work with shifts based on a bus schedule). It is fun working at the fair, and there is literally no funnier summer job to tell your friends and family you worked! So come run away to the circus with us this summer!
We pay $18/hr, plus some tips
Our business is based out of Davis, CA so we will be conducting interviews via Zoom. Please just reply with a paragraph on any event or food service experience you have had, or any other experience that is relevant. We will also take high school students since it is a summer job.
