POSITION: Area Director- Community Residential Services (CRS)
TYPE: Full-Time Exempt
LOCATION: Office Setting in Mendota Heights, MN, travel to sites in the program throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area required, with mileage reimbursement provided.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: As the Area Director for our CRS programs, you will help lead, develop, support, and audit the multiple residential sites across the metro within the 24HR Community Residential Services (CRS) programs at RTI. The CRS department serves participants with a diagnosis of a mental illness, developmental disabilities and/or a brain injuries. This role will supervise float staff and work with the CRS director and other leaders to ensure the department is delivering and implementing the highest level of care and support to the individuals served by each program. The Area Director will analyze all levels of each site within the program to guarantee that RTI is fulfilling its mission to help people improve their quality of life by empowering them with knowledge, resources and skills and treating them with dignity and respect.
In addition to the above but not limited to, the Area Director will perform the following duties:
  • Supervise float staff and help support managers to guide and assist with the development and performance management of the staff at each residential site.
  • Conducts interviews and selects new employees to work in the CRS programs.
  • Helps facilitate new-hire trainings for new staff.
  • Ensures schedules are completed on schedule.
  • Serve as one of the Designated Coordinators for 245D licensing and will be responsible for programs under their direction to be compliant and accurate with licensing requirement timelines and documentation.
  • Managing and maintaining staff training requirements, congruent with 245D licensing requirements
  • Protect and be watchful for risk that could negatively impact the employees and individuals served by Residential Transitions Inc.
  • Assists with decision-making processes related to selection and admission of new participants to RTI’s CRS program.
  • Provides oversight over 24 HR Support Services, including evaluation of participants in mental health crisis and implementing crisis intervention plans. Provides direction to Mental Health Workers on how to respond to verbal and/or physically aggressive behavior.
  • Develops and renews required documentation of each participant and licensed facility, including person-centered-plans for each person served and service authorization renewal documents such as 6790’s, rate exceptions, and cost documentation
  • Conducting monthly staff meetings for all staff
  • Providing 1:1 direct client care and participates in on-call rotation as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Have a passion for improving the life of the individuals we serve.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Human Services background check.
  • Work in a person-centered approach.
  • Organize and work independently.
  • A valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
  • Have a working vehicle with valid auto insurance.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. or more.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, human services experience and supervisory experience considered.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of leadership experience supervising residential or similar programs. Experience with implementing 245D licensing requirements.
