Job Summary:

Urban Engineers of NY, D.P.C. is actively seeking a Construction Office Engineer to work as part of our distinguished team on highway and bridge projects in NYSDOT Region 4 (Rochester NY) including Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, and Ontario Counties.

Construction Inspector Responsibilities:

• Assist the Engineer in Charge (EIC) with preparation of pay estimates, change orders and project recordkeeping.
• Provide support with claims avoidance/mitigation and cost estimating.
• Track materials and shop drawings and prepare record drawings.
• Monitor the contractor s work activities for conformance with contract documents, and preparation of daily report.
• Proactively communicate with the contractor and the client to progress the project in a timely manner to meet the project goals.

Construction Inspector Job Requirements:

• Previous experience with NYSDOT projects.
• NICET IV certification required.
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or similar can be substituted for experience and/or certification.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or a Professional Engineers License (PE) can be substituted for experience and/or certification.
• Basic computer skills to use an electronic tablet and computer for reviewing construction drawings/specifications and completing project documentation are required.
• Site Manager software knowledge required.
• ACI, NETTCP, OSHA-10 and/or NACE preferred.
• Formal training in Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) preferred.
• Communication - Both verbal and writing skills are required.
• Candidates must also have their own vehicle and have a valid driver s license. Candidates will receive mileage reimbursement for duty-related driving.

Salary Range: $45.00 - $55.00 / hour
