Position Overview & Essential Duties:

Apply generally accepted accounting principles to prepare financial reports, analyze financial data, compile financial statements, and ensure financial compliance. Responsibilities also include maintaining, developing, and executing financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax, personal property tax, general ledger entries, budgeting, forecasting, bank reconciliations, and payroll.

• Prepare accounting related entries to registers, journals, and logs.
• Follow company’s established accounting processes and aid in the development and implementation of improved accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
• Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
• Be able to provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors as needed.
• Prepare individual entity and consolidated financial statements.
• Prepare general ledger entries and maintain accurate records of entries.
• Reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Ensure an accurate, up-to-date A/P and A/R aging report by proper oversight of A/R and A/P specialists.
• Conduct collections efforts when needed.
• Provide accounting support to department heads by reviewing and distributing accurate financial information.
• Ensure confidentiality of all payroll and financial information.
• Run payroll on a bi-weekly basis and create the corresponding journal entries.
• Assist in the employee onboarding and off-boarding process by ensuring all employment related matters are in place.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an associate’s degree in accounting or other related field
• 2+ years in a Staff Accountant or Accounting Manager position at a manufacturing company
• 1+ year using NetSuite
• Paychex experience is a plus
• Highly professional and dependable
