Essential Duties and Responsibilities

§ Develop and assist with the digitization and automation of production and other operational activities.

§ Integrate, develop, and maintain Magna industrial automation and information systems utilizing the Ignition Software Industrial communications platform

§ Develop and assist with connecting machines with multiple software platforms and departments within the production environment.

§ Provide data and business intelligence through the collection, analysis, and reporting of machine data and other plant information systems.

§ Lead efforts to implement Industry 4.0 technologies such as system integration, internet of things, machine senor technologies, big data collection, and advanced analytics.

§ Assist with operations and staff IT systems support.

§ Lead efforts to implement technologies which will optimize processes, reduce bottlenecks, eliminate waste, increase, yield, and maximize efficiencies throughout of the organization.

§ Assist with the planning and implementation of IT projects.

§ Assist with the development and maintenance of IT documentation.

§ Lead IT efforts to develop systems to improve maintenance activities and machine reliability.

§ Lead and support the application of Data Science technologies to enhance Magna’s operational excellence.

§ Lead, develop, and assist with the application of Engineering and Project Management Methodologies to IT activities.

§ Encourage safety, housekeeping, and organizational practices and lead by example

§ Promote and facilitate Magna’s Open Door Process without reprisal; effective communication and Fair Treatment

§ Participate in Continual Improvement activities

§ Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System, and company policies

§ Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

§ Strong statistical process control background

§ Strong leadership with teams/groups and project management

§ Proven track record of solid engineering projects and success rate with projects

§ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and changing deadlines and competing objectives

§ Strong commitment to supporting a safety conscious work environment

§ Self-motivated and time management skills

§ Solid interpersonal and communication skills

§ Ability to work with extended hours as necessary to complete work assignments

§ Able to demonstrate understanding of reading technical manuals

§ Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations

§ Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, suppliers and customers

§ Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact

§ Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines

§ Able to work flexible hours and overtime to be available to three (3) shifts

Education, Skills, and Experience

§ Computer Science/Engineering 4-year degree or comparable experience

§ Minimum 4 years computer experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

§ Microsoft Windows XP/7/10, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019, Active Directory and Group Policy management

§ Microsoft Office 2007/2010/2013/2016/2019

§ Microsoft Exchange/Outlook

§ CMS or ERP experience a plus

§ Strong networking experience/background including routers, switches, VLAN management, WiFi, etc.

§ TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, WEP/WPA

Work Environment

§ The work environment is primarily office and includes manufacturing plant.

§ The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with team members, management, customers and suppliers.

§ Overtime as required

§ Physical requirements – able to lift up to 70 lbs, able to access high equipment via ladder or man-lift.
