Custodian Essential Functions:

· Keeps the plant in good housekeeping condition by:

· Sweeping all areas of the plant

· Collecting refuse from all areas of the plant

· Collecting recyclables from all areas of the plant

· Operating and emptying baler

· Operating floor sweeper on a periodic basis, including recharging responsibilities and keeping maintenance records

· Cleaning all bathrooms and replenishing supplies

· Stripping and waxing office floors

· Cleaning break room, replenishing supplies

· Cleaning all windows as needed

· Lowering and raising flag

· Removing snow using shovel and snow blower

· Daily routine cleaning of cafeteria, all restrooms, production office, main aisles, quality lab, conference room as needed, maintain employee entrance and break area, and all front office areas

· Cleaning displays in the facility as needed

· Seasonal duties as needed such as snow removal on walkways into the facility

· Occasional driving to pick-up supplies.

· Support 5S (straighten, shine, standardize, sustain) philosophy on a daily basis

· Move furniture and rearrange room setup for various plant events

· Ability to hold a hi-lo/forklift license

· All recycling including cardboard, plastic, batteries, light bulbs, wood pallets, absorbents, used oil drums, and any other recycling

Job Requirements

· Perform other duties as required by supervisor

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Knowledge of arithmetic is required

· Basic skills in oral and written communication

· Comply with all Environment, Health, and Safety {EH&S}rules and procedures.

· Ability to work individually without direct supervision

· Ability to use various equipment required for the job

Custodian:

· Custodian trainee evaluation will be made on a weekly basis. Training will follow the training plan.

· There is a 60 day qualification period.

Working Conditions:

Degree of Physical Demands (Strength) usually associated with this classification:

· Exerting up to 25 pounds of force frequently, or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Exerting 25-50 pounds occasionally.

· Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. Involves walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting frequently, with occasional crouching.

Environmental conditions (Physical Surroundings) usually associated with this classification:

· The associate is subject to environmental conditions common to a plant environment, including cramped conditions between presses and enclosures. Some exposure to loud noise and oil. Activities occur inside and outside

Environmental conditions (Hazards) usually associated with this classified:

· Exposure to noise, possible cuts, blisters, and pinch points.
