The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is searching for a Director of Player Personnel for the Hockey program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Enhance the head coach's and hockey staff's effectiveness by assisting with compliance, on campus recruiting, alumni relations, nutrition, financial planning, fundraising, and special events.
  • Assist coaching staff with the roster and personnel management; talent and transcript/academic evaluation.
  • Support the student-athletes and assist in communication regarding NIL activities in accordance with University and NCAA regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate Team Travel including: transportation, lodging, tickets and itineraries.
  • Serve as communications liaison to other areas within the Athletic Department, Career Services, hockey alumni, Blue Line Club and other outside entities.
  • Assist coaching staff with summer camp; marketing, scheduling, communication with sport camp office.
  • Serve as a game day liaison to the event management staff by handling the needs of special guests, hospitality, key ticket distribution and providing general game day support.
  • Support the Head Coach by completing tasks that include coordinating calendar, travel, email, staff meetings, and coach’s suite.

Required Degree

Bachelors

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a bachelors degree in related field; 3-5 years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in administration; word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and calendaring software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to travel throughout the season.

Desired Qualifications

Proficiency in both PC and Apple products including Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and keynote and social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine; knowledge of college hockey, NCAA and Big Ten rules; ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment and to work with frequent interruptions; exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential.
