Summary:
Coordinates and monitors the movement of patients throughout Hartford Hospital through timely, accurate dispatch and management of EPIC transport requests. The Dispatch role is a vital role that impacts patient care. Ensures positive patient and customer satisfaction, adherence to facility specific standard work procedures, and expectations established by Radiology leadership. Acts as a positive role model and team player demonstrating HHC mission and values. Must be sensitive and attentive to all hospital staff, transporters and environmental services staff needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provides quality customer service to users by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
- Determines, explains and develops dispatcher logic and transporter activities.
- Directs the activity of the transport function and transporters, ensuring timely completion of tasks. Monitors procedures related to availability and completion task, and follows up on issues related to service and operations.
- Ensures requests have been addressed in an efficient, timely manner according to current departmental standards, priorities and patient appointments.
- Serves as a liaison between Radiology Patient Transportation and other departments.
- Monitors daily sign-in/out procedures of pagers and EPIC system.
- Resolves problems related to patient, visitor, staff or employee complaints.
- Recommends solutions for ongoing or recurring issues.
- Uploads CDs into PACS as needed.
- Calls in IR on-call staff (2nd and 3rd shift)
- Works to find transport staff coverage when call-outs for upcoming shifts occur.
- Assists with patient transport if needed.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of leadership experience highly preferred.
