Dog Walker Job at Dogs Love Running! of Elmhurst
Dogs Love Running! is currently looking for a reliable, honest, dog loving person to fill our midday Dog Walker role for the Elmhurst / Oak Brook area.
Please note, applicants must be at least 19-years old and make a commitment of service for a minimum of 6 months. A background check and references checks are required to secure employment.
General Hours: 10am-2pm on Monday through Friday.
(Mornings/evenings/weekends are optional as walks are requested)
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Walkers will take on all types of assignments on Monday through Friday between 10am-2pm walking hours. This could include daily dog walks or cat care, each for a range of breeds and temperaments.
- Walkers ensure the safety of the dogs and those (humans and dogs) around them, as well as maintain home security when entering/exiting.
- Even when it is raining or snowing, dogs need to go out! Walkers must be willing to drive/walk in inclement weather.
- Walkers will be required to check in with the office staff and software systems to confirm that each visit has been completed to the client specifications and within the requested timeframe.
- Walkers must be comfortable holding keys to clients' homes and take responsibility to not lose keys or get locked out.
- Walkers must be comfortable using a smartphone.
- Due to the bonding that occurs between a walker and animal, we require at least a 9 month commitment.
PAY
Dog walkers are paid by direct deposit on a bi-weekly basis with hourly wage ranging from $14 to $17/hour depending on client needs and walker availability. All walkers are W2 employees.
**Hiring bonus of $300 will be paid after first 120 days of employment**
