Essential Functions:

With the direction and support of the Technical Services Manager, the draftsman duties and tasks are generally as follows:

• Meet with customers to obtain and properly document the specific needs/objectives for the drafting project. Maintain communication with the customer on a timely basis to report any questions and the project progress.
• Establish and maintain all documentation for the projects such as a paper file with hand drawings, photos, notes, Carver “drafting packet” etc. and the electronic files such as those pertaining to the “job file cabinet” and all correspondence including emails.
• Prepare, according to the applicable jurisdiction, a building plan suitable for proper construction, in a timely fashion.
• Maintain technical equipment assigned to you, such as computers, ipads, cell phones, printers, etc. including proper back-ups, anti-virus protection, etc.
• Maintain the drafting schedule, updating continuously as the various steps of the process are completed.
• Report to the Technical services manager at a minimum of first thing in the morning to review the schedule and prioritize as needed-seek out guidance as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required by the company.
• Prepare the billings for drafting services as directed by accounting.
• Cover incoming phone calls and the front sales counter as requested.
• Attend association meetings as requested by management.
• Obtain and maintain any continuing education as required by management.
• Prepare in an accurate and timely manner, Res-check (IECC) for customers as requested.
• Attend safety and training meetings as required.
• Perform cleaning activities as directed to maintain a safe work environment-keep work area clean and professional in appearance.

Physical Requirements:

Minimum physical requirements to perform job duties are, but not limited to:

The ability to physically use various technical devices including computers, ipads, cell phones, etc. for prolonged durations. The ability to move about the yard and various buildings on-site.
