Elmer Buchta, Sr. founded Elmer Buchta Trucking in 1937. The business began primarily as logging and cattle hauling business. In 1946, a division was added to move houses and commercial buildings. As a Driver Manager, you will be responsible for oversight of the drivers in the assigned region. The Driver Manager will hire, coach, train, discipline, and conduct annual performance evaluations of assigned employees. The driver manager is responsible for dispatch, route planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of their employees including adhering to DOT, FMCSA and company safety standards and compliance. The driver manager is the primary contact for fleet and driver operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage employees in assigned transportation business unit.
• Hiring, training, coaching, conducting appraisals, disciplining, and terminating.
• Provide leadership and guidance by establishing effective goals, provide necessary instructions and feedback.
• Ensures DOT/FMCSA compliance
• Ensures company safety polices and protocols are followed.
• Ensure drivers are dispatched in the most effective and efficient manner for maximum productivity.
• Handles customer/employee issues as they arrive.
• Give ongoing feedback to drivers to enhance their performance
• Ensure employee in assigned unit are paid correctly and according to their dispatch schedules.

Education/Qualifications:

• At least High school degree or GED. 3+ years in similar position. 4+ years in transportation/logistics industry desired.
• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Strong knowledge of transportation industry
• Above average computer skills
• Strong planning and organization skills
• Ability to make quick decision and take action

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
