JOB SUMMARY:

We are now accepting resumes for a full-time School-Based Therapist at Sophos Alternative School, an alternative education placement in Elkhorn, and Career Challenge Academy in Elkhorn!

Professional Services Group provides school-based services in various districts in Kenosha, western Kenosha and Racine counties, Walworth County, West Allis, and Washington County. Our programs work with children and their families who are struggling with academic and behavioral concerns within the school environment.

Providing mental health services within the school increases access to services for families who may not be able to go to an outpatient clinic on their own. School-Based staff go directly into the school to provide intervention, including: individual and group therapy, education/consultation for school personnel, and family therapy as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.
• Create and review client treatment plans.
• Provide psychotherapy in accordance with the child's treatment plans.
• Providing individual therapy and topic-focused groups as well as consultation to school personnel. This position also provides mental health therapy to students at Sophos and CCA in Elkhorn.
• Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.

POSITION HOURS AND LOCATION: Position is based at Sophos Alternative School. Hours are during the school day with occasional evenings to meet with students and/or families after school. Position operates during 9-month school year, with the opportunity to continue working part-time through the summer.

SALARY: $46,000-48,000

• Must have a Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related.
• Must be licensed to provide mental health therapy in the State of Wisconsin
• Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
