Your Responsibilities
As an Engineer, Fire Prevention and Investigation for John Deere located in Fuquay Varina you will:
Support Design for Fire Prevention activities for Commercial Mowing and Golf products at the Turf Care factory.- Serve as unit contact at Turf Care for prevention-related topics, working to implement enterprise-wide efforts.
- Support fire incident investigation, including site inspections and supporting litigation including oral and written discovery at the request of the Deere & Company law department.
- Mentor and train others on fire prevention and mitigation.
Skills you need
Three years experience in one or more of the following: design engineering, test engineering, reliability engineering, or fire investigation.- One year experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate concisely while under pressure.
- Experience working with engineering tools, systems, and databases.
- Demonstrated ability to master technical assignments and deliver on project outcomes.
What makes you stand out
Familiarity with standards, including end-product standards in addition to NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033.- Familiarity with the outdoor power equipment, utility vehicles, and compact tractors.
- Experience supporting litigation as a witness in deposition or trial.
- Experience field investigations, such as fire cause and origin investigations.
- Knowledge of stage-gate product delivery processes.
- Hands-on mechanical experience with products, including engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems (both electric and non-electric propulsion).
- Experience with lithium-ion or other advanced battery chemistry systems.
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent work experience:
Degree in an Engineering/Technology or Science discipline or equivalent experience.
