We are professional, innovative, bold and our mission is to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education. A leading national nonprofit developer of housing and programmatic facilities for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, HomeAid operates through a network of 19 Affiliates in 13 states. In partnership with Hawaii’s home building industry, local nonprofit organizations, and community leaders, HomeAid Hawaii builds and improves housing and programmatic facilities for those at risk of and experiencing homelessness. Over the last seven years, we have grown from a local affiliate in its start-up phase to an organization positioned for exciting and sustainable growth. As we look ahead to the coming years, we know Hawaii is facing important questions on housing insecurity and homelessness. HomeAid Hawaii is working to become an integral part of the community's fight to end homelessness, and we are looking for a collaborative, grounded, and effective leader to help guide us through our next chapter.
The HomeAid Hawaii (HAH) Executive Director assists the HAH Board of Directors further it’s mission to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement and education. HAH’s a non-profit organization, and is one of 19 HomeAid chapters across the country. Under the direction of the Board, the Executive Director will work with the board to meet HAH’s objectives and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Implementation HAH’s strategic goals as developed by the Board of Directors
· Implement fund development programs, e.g. grants, events, donors
· Manage HAH’s day-to-day operations
· Establish relationships with the home building, real estate, construction industries as well as homeless advocate organizations
· Manage volunteers, staff (when appropriate) and third-party relationships (consultants, etc.)
· Assist HAH’s committees
· Develop and implement HAH’s media and public relations strategies
· Monitor and assist with budget and financial reporting
· Serves as primary spokesperson through media, public speaking and appearances
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of local community required (must live in Honolulu, HI)
· Minimum 7 years’ experience in leading a nonprofit or managing a complex and diverse organization
· Demonstrate understanding of charitable organizations and operations
· Construction/Real Estate experience preferred
· Grant Writing experience preferred
· Strong communication and presentation skills
· Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
· Strong financial administrative experience
· Familiarity with the Hawaii community and homelessness services
· Demonstrate ability to identify and capitalize upon funding entities
· Minimum 10 year’s work experience and college degree
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
