Summary of Duties:

Utilize diverse knowledge base for many needs within an animal care facility with an emphasis on cleaning and maintenance. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing animal treatment and holding areas and observing animals for sickness or abnormalities. Stocking supplies; collecting, processing and distributing laundry; collection and disposal of trash and biohazardous waste. Minor equipment repair and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Leading and assisting hourly employees.

Full-time positions available:

AM Shift- 5:00am-1:30pm

PM Shift- 12:00pm-8:30pm

Required Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience as an Animal Technician 2; OR equivalent education/experience. Equivalent experience may include a bachelor's degree, progress toward degree and/or customer service experience.
  • Must pass WSU radiation safety training exam first time it is available.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with and caring for canine, feline, birds, and exotics.
  • Experience in general maintenance and repair.
  • Experience handling waste and performing custodial duties.
  • Experience stocking inventory and completing laundry.

Monthly Salary: Range 34 | $2,827 to $3,734 (Steps A-M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 OR applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
