Job Summary

As a Financial Analyst duties will include the monthly close, reporting, planning, costing, and process improvement. The expectations will be to enhance the current reporting structure, which includes monthly management reporting as well as submitting local data into a global consolidated reporting tool. This position will play a key role in the annual audit, inventory costing, monthly reporting, and the annual planning process. There will also be opportunities to help streamline multiple processes and be involved in globalization efforts currently underway within the organization. This role will work closely with the Sr. Financial Accountant.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review month-end reconciliations and financial reporting

  • Review and analyze plan to actual variance on a monthly basis (P&L, BS, margin, volume, inventory)

  • Coordinate with department heads during annual planning process to create plan and midyear forecast

  • Periodic review of product costs, analyze work order variances, and maintain inventory reserve

  • Assist with developing and maintaining key financial metrics and dashboards

  • Assist in optimizing processes to facilitate more timely and efficient close and reporting cycle

  • Assist in preparation of year-end audit

  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required

  • Will spend part of his/her time as a member of continuous improvement teams undertaking projects and seeking ways to improve the quality of KSI’s products and services

Education and Experience

  • BA or BS in accounting or finance, required

  • 4-10 years of accounting and finance experience; 2-4 years public accounting experience, preferred

  • CPA (licensed or candidate), strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and G/L transactions, required

  • Experience using SAP ERP or equivalent, preferred

  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate advanced Excel skills, required

  • Experience with general accounting functions such as AR, AP, and Payroll, preferred

  • Audit experience, preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Sense of urgency and ability to reprioritize

  • Well organized with astute attention to detail

  • Work with minimal supervision, exercise independent judgment, and team player

  • Knowledge of medical device quality system regulations and standards (eg, U.S. FDA Quality System Regulation 21CFR Part 820, ISO13485, ISO9001)

  • Must be able to analyze complex data as a basis for process improvement recommendations and implement solutions
  • Must be punctual, able to sustain attendance guidelines, and work hours as assigned
