Works under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist in applying basic techniques in therapy, including supervision of patients and assisting in departmental housekeeping duties, and reports patient responses, assisting in admission procedure, and maintenance of records. Supplies, inventory, and clerical duties as assigned.

• Coordinates with therapist and office staff for appropriate scheduling of maintenance.
• Maintains all equipment to proper operating level and coordinates calibration schedules of all fitness equipment.
• Contacts maintenance clients after a period of inactivity to ensure accurate records/schedule.
• Develops/supervises after therapy exercise program for individuals/groups/focus on fitness/cardio endurance/weight loss/fit camp for employer services, Pilates, yoga, and pool.
• Assists with exercise with patients as directed/supervised by therapists or assistants (gym equipment, BTE, treadmills, bikes).
• Assists patients' transferring from wheelchair onto treatment table, mats, car, bathroom, etc.
• Guides individuals through prescribed exercise programs in the therapeutic pool under direction of therapist
• Activities of daily living practice (transfers from wheelchair, etc. wheelchair activities).
• Propels wheelchairs or escorts ambulatory patients in/out of building.
• Assists patients transferring from wheelchair onto treatment table, mats, car, bathroom, etc.
• Maintaining order in the treatment rooms/gym including changing the linen.
• Maintains clean linen supply
• Disposes of hazardous waste.
• General housekeeping and maintenance in the department and restrooms.
• Maintain current and accurate documentation.
• Seeks appropriate guidance regarding questions concerning specific patient care issues.
• Assists clerical staff as needed.
• Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

This position requires endurance to perform tasks over long periods of work hours and the ability to perform essential functions without posing a "direct threat" in the workplace. Must be able to lift 55 pounds and able to assist in a 2 person transfer from chair to mat and/or floor.

This position requires the ability to read, write, and communicate ideas, as well as being able to understand simple anatomy and physiology. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals. This position requires the ability to lift, walk and stand for long periods of time.
