Scope of Position
This position is for a talented mid-level designer who is also a proficient production artist. You will report directly to our Director of Creative Services. This will be a fast-paced position, to succeed you must possess a mix of creative and technical skills, flexibility, and be able to work quickly while remaining detail-oriented. On any given day you might be asked to brainstorm with other artists on a project, work independently on creative first looks, prepare art files for print, make text revisions or work on internal marketing pieces including our website. You understand design principles. You are a craftsman. You have experience in communicating ideas and love collaborating with others. You are humble enough to take direct feedback with a positive attitude. We are a small team that requires you to be non-territorial and highly collaborative - a consummate problem solver and team player.

Responsibilities:

• Development and execution of creative concepts with and without style guides for a wide range of clients
• Create engaging design concepts for a variety of mediums including digital/print menus, POS signage, logos and overall branding
• Design mood boards for bar/restaurant concepts including interior materials and fixtures
• Partner with project managers and production manager to prepare and package files for final release (check size, bleed, colors, resolution, etc.)
• Execute rounds of presentation materials, edits and design changes, working in a careful and meticulous manner; store and deliver all files in organized manner
• Retouch imagery for use in comps, digital and print artwork

Technical Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Highly proficient in InDesign
• Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite; Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong knowledge of design fundamentals, layout, typography and web specifications
• Use of paragraph and character styles
• Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
• Expertise on the Mac platform
• Capable in PowerPoint and MS Office
• Solid photo retouching skills (color correction, retouching, compositing)
• Knowledge of high end menu materials and bindery techniques
• Takes direction well and works well within a team
• Ability to focus in a high-volume workload

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Design/Art or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in graphic design
• Agency experience preferred
