Empire State Mines is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of UNDERGROUND MINE MECHANIC at its underground zinc operation. This position is based at the Empire State Mine site in northern New York State and the candidate would need to relocate to work a 5,2 schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains, diagnoses and repairs a variety of mobile underground equipment including; diesel engines, transmissions, drive train components, high pressure pumps, centrifugal pumps, air compressors, microprocessor controls, electro-mechanical equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, 12/24v electrical systems, equipment cabs and controls, chassis and suspension, rims, tires and wheels;
• Perform PMs including scheduled hour services, changing fluids, filters, inspections and other component checks;
• Perform welding and fabrication duties (frame repairs, brackets, body work, etc.;
• Completes required maintenance reports and logs;
• Work 10-hour shift, 5 day/night work week

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years heavy duty earth moving equipment maintenance;
• 2-3 years of underground mining maintenance experience preferred; Diesel technician preferred;
• Able to able to comprehen written and verbal instructions as required to perform his/her duties in a safe and efficient manner;
• Must be able to perform the work without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self or others due to the safety sensitivity of tasks;
• Willing to relocate to area to work 5 day/night work week.

Salary Range: $30-$40 Contingent on experience and skills, base pay plus overtime rate on all hours worked over 40 hours. Average 50 hours worked per week.
