Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will provide both strategic and tactical HR support for the company. This includes working with leadership to develop and execute strategy while executing daily on operational, tactical and hands-on aspects to this role (estimated at 25% strategic and 75% tactical). This role is employee and manager-facing and the person in this role must be able to build trust-based relationships cross organizationally at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in strategy development and manage HR programs and activities including compensation, benefits, HR policies and procedures, employee relations, talent acquisition and talent to ensure IMS's ability to be competitive.
  • Conduct all new employee orientations ensuring that all compliance requirements are met and all internal process and system requirements are met for new employees. Work with hiring managers to ensure that a formal on-boarding program is developed and executed for each new employee.
  • Develop, manage and execute the performance management process.
  • Administer all benefits and manage the annual open enrollment program.
  • Manage vendor relationships including, but not limited to benefit brokers, insurance benefit providers, retirement plan service providers, outsourced HR service providers, etc. Collaborate with external HR subject matter experts as directed.
  • Ensure HR legal compliance
  • Develop and execute strategy for employee training including, but not limited to new employee on-boarding, employee development and all safety, legal or compliance required training.
  • Identify and deliver timely and meaningful HR analytics and reporting
  • Develop and maintain employment policies and procedures
  • Provide employee relations support including execution of HR investigations and compliance relating to all employee complaints or accidents.
  • In partnership with the CEO and leadership team, foster a unified culture that inspires excellent performance and strong employee engagement in support of our core values. Contribute to employee culture by listening to employees, organizing events and being the "face of HR" within the office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the confidentiality, high ethical standard and excellent judgement required when dealing with private, personal and confidential information.
  • Must be able to proactively recognize problems/opportunities and independently develop and execute rapid solution/plans while collaborating with others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead open and effective dialogue at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong active listening skills
  • Ability to successfully multi-task between strategic and tactical responsibilities and effectively prioritize work.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner, collaboratively and/or under specific direction as required.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in a tactical HR role including benefits administration, employee relations,
  • BS/BA strongly preferred but work experience may substitute
  • PHR or equivalent certification preferred
