Job Description

Job Summary: Developing and maintaining proactive trust based relationships with customers both external and internal by engaging with customers in a way that results in a customer service experience that is both rewarding and profitable. Reports to Enhancement / Construction Account Manager or Senior Crew Leader.

Position Description: Enhancement / Construction Crew Leaders are responsible for creating and maintaining positive external and internal customer experiences that result in trust based relationships and leading teams to deliver projects on budget and on time in commercial, municipal, residential and HOA landscape markets.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • meet budget and cost guidelines
  • work with Senior Crew Leader to implement and enforce JT Landscaping and Lawn Care policies and procedures related to proper upkeep and maintenance, storage, use, and training required for all vehicles, equipment and tools
  • weekly crew cost analysis for each project
  • lead and successfully supervise your team in, quality, safety, productivity
  • ensure projects are completed within guidelines, budgets, and work hours
  • effective proactive communications with internal and external customers that results in meeting any request or concerns
  • ensure that direct supervisor is fully aware on day of any request or concerns from customers
  • complete tickets
  • assist Senior Crew Leader in recruiting, staffing and training crews
  • ensure safety on every project by enforcing safety standards, training and meetings
  • consistently monitor job sites for potential safety hazards
  • enforce company policies per company handbook

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

  • Minimum 3+ year landscape enhancement / construction field supervision experience
  • 5+ years in landscape enhancement / construction industry
  • thorough working knowledge of landscape industry best practices:
  • landscape maintenance
  • landscape construction
  • irrigation systems
  • ability to properly ID 45 common & native plants & trees
  • ability to properly ID 12 common & native grasses & turf
  • ability to properly ID 12 common & native weeds
  • blueprints
  • vehicles & equipment operations
  • Pick-ups, dump trucks with trailers
  • Mini-excavator (with attachments bucket, hammer, etc.)
  • Skidsteer (with attachments forks, trencher, 4-n-1 bucket, etc.)
  • Tractor ( with box-scraper, mower(s), blades, etc.)
  • Tamper ( plate, roller)
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • Excavation for decks, patios, steps, etc.
  • Grading 1-5” for positive drainage
  • Creating and cutting swales, ditches
  • Creating pads
  • Tamping different types of soil up to 3’ in depth
  • Strong laying out & installation skills for:
  • Patio’s (Brick, concrete, gravel, pavers, stone (flag, cut), tile, wood)
  • Steps (Brick, concrete, mason-block, pavers, stone (flag, cut), tile, wood)
  • Walls (Brick, concrete, mason-block, pavers, stone (flag, cut), tile, wood)
  • Irrigation & lighting
  • Annuals & Perennials, shrubs, trees
  • accurate, safe application of: fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides
  • strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
  • proactive organizational and time management skills
  • effective conflict resolution and critical-thinking skills
  • capability and knowledge of IT devices and internal computer programs such as Aspire, and other applicable computer programs
  • valid driver's license and ability to meet company guidelines for driver eligibility

Working Conditions

  • Subject to outdoor weather conditions which may include extreme cold, extreme heat or wet conditions
  • Subject to exposure to animals and insects
  • Regularly exposed to chemicals using appropriate safety equipment
  • Occasionally work near mechanical or moving parts
