LEAD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

White Castle Distributing – Vandalia, OH

Non-Exempt Position

2nd shift hours - 2:00pm to 10:30pm

(hours may change based on the needs of the plant)

This position is responsible for assisting the Facility Manager in executing and maintaining a maintenance program that ensures the proper maintenance of the production equipment and facility. Operate as part of a team with the goal of meeting downtime and efficiency targets, while following SQF, GMP’s and other pertinent food safety regulations.

What we are looking for:

• High School Degree, Vocational School Degree or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of general maintenance experience.
• Knowledge or experience in repairing and troubleshooting high speed automated production equipment, HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air conditioning), industrial electrical circuits, operating electronic equipment software and Ammonia refrigeration basics.
• Ability to reprioritize the workload of all shifts in order to reduce and prevent production downtime and ensure food safety.
• Ability to make on the spot decisions to keep equipment running, often times without immediate supervisor available for consult.
• Knowledge of all equipment to ensure it is properly and adequately maintained is needed.
• Ability to instruct, observe and guide mechanics to operate and correct problems on production or facility equipment.
• Must be able to resolve problems on production or facility equipment in the absence of the Facility Manager.

What you will do:

• Evaluate and resolve problems on production and facility equipment during production and non-production hours, while following GMP’s and food safety regulations.
• Assist Facility Manager in updating and posting the data and information on the maintenance software to keep work orders, spare parts inventory, vendor lists and the preventative maintenance program current.
• Perform the work outlined in work orders and the preventative maintenance program as assigned.
• Write work orders when problems are found with facility or processing equipment.
• Assist the Facility Manager in ordering and receiving parts.
• Supervise and train Service Technicians.
• Perform the basic duties in the absence of the Facility Manager.
