At our site in Ann Arbor, or Chattanooga area, we are currently looking for a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt to be a part of our growing team.

The Performance Excellence team will be the key enabler for the U.S. region operations and functional business units to improve team members business improvement capabilities through world-class training offerings, mentoring and leading initiatives that offer sustainable solutions that positively impact safety, quality, productivity, communications, costs and customer focus while educating, informing, promoting, and embedding a culture of continuous business improvement.
Our team is enhancing service offerings to help grow our business. We are seeking a Lean Six Sigma professional who is passionate about culture change.
The MBB will partner with operations and transactional areas across the U.S. sites, including our new regional innovation center to live the Vision:

  • Leading & coaching kaizens and projects at all organizational levels from the back-office to shopfloor
  • Classroom training
  • Mentoring Lean Six Sigma (LSS) candidates
  • Enhance current and design new PeX class offerings

The position requires applied MBB level Six Sigma methodology expertise. Preferably with Lean Operations and business flow optimization experience. The position requires proficient Minitab level experience, DMAIC milestones project management experience, effective communication abilities at all levels, basic financial knowledge, coaching skills and working on diverse, complex projects with a sense of urgency.
The MBB will be a catalyst for cultural change to enable new and year-over-year value creation. Strong engagement, negotiating and execution abilities are critical to deploying a sustainable Performance Excellence initiative. Internal relationship building is equally important as technical aptitude.
Job Responsibilities

  • Lead regional & site Lean Six Sigma projects & kaizens
  • Mentor LSS candidates
  • Facilitate Regional PeX training
  • Six Sigma Yellow, Green, Black Belt & Refresher training
  • Lean Operations training
  • Ad-hoc team support tools & techniques training
  • Develop and continuously improve LSS training materials
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, technical, engineering, or related field
  • Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certified
  • 5 years working in a manufacturing environment utilizing Lean Six Sigma master black belt
  • Experience with Lean Operations and/or transactional preferred
  • 7 years as a certified M/BB Practitioner
  • Ability to partner at all levels of the organization
  • “Go to Gemba” mentality to educate, inform and promote change
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically, including partnership with colleagues on the shop floor
  • Ability to analyze complex & diverse processes and communicate practical & sustainable solutions
  • Proficient with Minitab at a MBB level
  • Diverse kaizen and project execution
  • Lean Value Stream Mapping for office and operations flows
  • Ability to financially quantify cost improvements with trainees and controllers
  • SAP experience preferred but not required
