LIBRARY CLERK Job at City of Weatherford, TX
The City of Weatherford’s Public Library is looking to hire a Full-Time Library Clerk. This position will assist library staff in performing clerical work involving the processing of library material. If you think you’d be a good fit, we would like to hear from you.
Roles & Responsibilities Include:
- Processing and collecting returned materials such as books, magazines, and audiovisual material.
- Creating and updating library accounts for borrowers and computer users.
- Assisting borrowers during checking out of library materials, as well as advising library users of borrowing due dates, borrower’s fines, reserve fees, and damage and replacement fees.
- Directing library users to appropriate staff or departments as needed for assistance.
- Receives money and makes change for any library service transactions rendered.
- Preparing materials for the Parker County Library Association for courier pick-up.
- Processing material donations including the writing of receipts.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent OR six months clerical experience involving typing/computer use.
Special Requirements
Applications must be submitted online for consideration. Candidates who do not meet the Education requirement may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires. Candidates selected for employment will be required to pass pre-employment checks depending on the position requirements. Pre-employment checks could include, but not limited to criminal background check, drug screen, education verification, etc. Criminal convictions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
