About the job

Join the Berry Global team as a Machine Operator in Bristol, RI. As a Machine Operator, you will review work orders, ensure that all needed materials are present, verify that machinery is in proper operating condition, load machinery, and follow all safety and quality processes, procedures, and guidelines to produce specialty tapes used in various industries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• Ability to read and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
• Basic computer skills and the ability to use company software to perform assigned tasks
• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of scan guns and/or inventory control systems
• Forklift operation experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Review all work orders prior to the beginning of runs (ex. Run sheet, material requirements, process notes)
• Visually confirm that the correct material is loaded onto the machine
• Ensure the correct side of materials are threaded for coating/lamination
• Load, unload, and store roll shafts both manually and with the aid of material handling equipment and operator assistance
• Cut and splice material throughout the run, as needed
• Unload rolls from the line and prepare them for transport to the Warehouse (skid, band, etc.)
• Operate material handling equipment, such as fork trucks, drum trucks, pallet jacks, and hoists, to move, store, stage, and/or load raw materials and products
• Report all material issues/defects through NCR procedures
• Report all equipment issues to the respective Group Leader and/or Supervisor
• Use appropriate chemicals for cleaning adhesives during changeovers throughout the shift, as needed
• Comply with all job-related ISO quality procedures and customer specifications
• Perform other duties as required or directed
