The Maintenance Specialist, will primarily focus on improvement of equipment uptime within the Motion Business Area in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining the preventive / predictive maintenance directive. Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement effective correction actions to prevent recurring equipment problems. Develop and maintain critical spare part lists for all critical equipment. Maintain training matrix to keep the maintenance tech skill levels where they need to be. Provide technical support for the techs on challenging problems. Research and suggest new ways to improve equipment reliability. Maintain the maintenance equipment library.

Your responsibilities

  • Verify safety and maintainability of new equipment prior to installation including LOTO’ (LockOut TagOut) procedures, Arc Flash assessments, adding equipment to the system, selection of spare parts, creation of OPM (Organizational Project Management)/ PM (Product Management)/ Pd.M. task/ schedules.
  • Perform Complex technical tasks and analysis of automated machinery and control systems including FMEA (Failure mode and effects analysis) and RCFA.
  • Expand the cost-effective application of preventative and predictive maintenance technologies to improve existing asset availability.
  • Troubleshoot, recommend, and assist with repairs on production equipment including control systems and networking of automated machines.
  • Set up training matrix’s, perform gap analysis using MTTR (Mean time to repair) for training needs and develop training schedules for continued growth of talent in the maintenance department to help improve equipment uptime on all production shifts.
  • Manage and periodically audit the completed work of the Preventative and Predictive Maintenance activities and PM scheduling.
  • Periodically review all PM frequencies and Mean time between failures data to adjust PM frequency as necessary.
  • Regularly identify long standing and high-cost problems and then engineer effective solutions that significantly improve uptime and total operating costs.

Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 0-2 years experience OR Associate Degree with minimum 2 years of experience OR High School Diploma / GED with minimum 4 years experience.
  • Prior maintenance supervision experience a plus.
  • Preferred Experience Includes: PLC’s, control logic, troubleshooting and repairs of automated equipment. Knowledge of the fundamentals of industrial electrical application, pneumatics, hydraulics and control systems, reliability center maintenance, lean manufacturing and analytical problem-solving tools including “Six Sigma”, Root Cause Failure Analysis, and statistical analysis.
