The Maintenance Technician role for the New York Reserve Roastery Manufacturing Team, has an integral role in supporting the production of unique Starbucks Reserve Coffees from around the world by performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on plant equipment to ensure the facility is able to meet all quality and safety standards while driving continuous improvement projects for the Team. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
As a Reserve Roastery Maintenance Technician, you will…
- Assist the Roastery team and support all aspects of the maintenance department as needed, including preventative, reactive, and corrective maintenance as well as improvement projects.
- Completes plant work orders, accurately and on time.
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Performs emergency equipment repairs, alone and with mechanics.
- Performs preventive maintenance on plant equipment and completes appropriate documentation.
- Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. While understanding and follows established safety guidelines, programs and procedures; and actively working to prevent safety incidents.
- Support food safety, legality, and quality programs.

- Passion for coffee!
- General industrial mechanical maintenance and electrical systems or (2 years)
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in elevated areas with ladders, roofs, overhead lights
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to read, write and understand polices, guidelines, specifications and safety standards
- Ability to work in elevated areas
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
- Basic math skills
- Mechanical/Technical Aptitude

- Proficient in safety procedures
- Familiarity with American Institute of Baking (AIB), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards
- Ability to plan and prioritize workload
- Ability to work in accordance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards, policies and guidelines
