Sacramento Imaging a multi-specialty practice has open position for mammography technologist in their radiology division in Rancho Cordova location. Looking for experienced technologists to run the brand new unit, capable of 2D mammograms.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates competence in Breast Imaging procedures including Screening Mammography and Diagnostic Mammography.
  • Demonstrates competence to perform imaging procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual
  • Accurately presents patient studies for interpretation. Information will include pertinent clinical history, physician’s order, demographics and other data necessary to interpret the exam
  • Participates in a daily processor quality control program to ensure consistency in imaging results
  • Communicates equipment issues to management in a timely manner for service resolution
  • Regularly interfaces with the Radiology Information System to accurately represent procedural information
  • Effectively interacts with co-workers and physician in a positive and professional manner
  • Assists with clerical support functions as needed to most efficiently process patient studies
  • Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
  • Determines exposure factors based on height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree on penetration required.
  • Moves imaging equipment into specified position.
  • Adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
  • Operates mobile radiologic equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient's bedside.
  • Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
  • Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
  • Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
  • Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.

EDUCATION:

  • Education required to achieve mandatory certification

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-year clinical experience with Mammography experience preferred
