SUMMARY: Supervises assigned clinical staff to include out-patient and home or school-based therapists, CPST providers and interns. Managing Clinical Supervisor will also provide mental health counseling services to individuals, couples and families according to their needs.
The Encompass Managing Clinical Supervisor ensures that agency vision and direction are communicated on a level that allows every employee to understand their ownership in the success of the agency and that they are a valued member of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: It is the responsibility of each employee to be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ and to adhere to the Standard of Moral Conduct and Statement of Faith. Other essential functions include the following:
- Makes every effort to maintain a 'team first' spirit and atmosphere within the workplace environment - fostering and maintaining appropriate working relationships within the Encompass team, and with other Agency departments, as well.
- Managing Clinical Supervisor is expected to maintain his or her own client caseload. Please refer to job description for Encompass Therapist to review duties and responsibilities associated with this.
Provides clinical supervision to all assigned clinical staff and interns to include:
- Reports directly to Regional Program Director
- Provides clinical supervision for assigned independent and dependently licensed (and non-licensed/para-professional, as needed) staff; reviewing and signing all clinical documentation, as needed.
- Provides assistance to clinicians in session to provide feedback.
- Provides clinicians with direct feedback regarding time management issues, ethical conduct, clinical style, treatment successes and barriers, productivity expectations and documentation deadlines.
- Provides after- hours phone support for assigned clinical staff.
- Assists clinicians with difficult treatment situations and/or community collaborations.
Office Duties to include, but not limited to:
- Maintains leadership presence in Portage Office.
- Provides administrative supervision and leadership to assigned supervisees.
- Maintains availability to provide trainings to ensure a highly developed understanding of clinical interventions.
- Attends community meetings as requested.
- Assists in hiring and evaluating CPST staff and therapists, as requested.
- Attends and participates in supervision with Program Director.
- Oversees or assists in Peer Review for departmental charts according to agency CQI standards.
- Assists in assigning clients to appropriate service(s) and service provider(s).
- Assists office staff with insurance situations regarding pre-authorizations, documentation, etc.
- Assists with Staff Meetings, as requested.
- Leads or assists with Case Presentation Meeting, as requested.
- Attends Encompass Utilization Committee Review Meetings, and other meetings, as needed.
- Assists with special projects as assigned.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises assigned staff at designated Encompass office. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and hiring; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performances; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION, LICENSES and/or EXPERIENCE: A Master's Degree in Professional Counseling or Social Work or related degree; and an advanced clinical independent licensure with supervisory designation is required (LPCC-S or LISW-S), four years of related experience practicing in a mental health counseling capacity.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret trade journals, clinical journals and studies, ethical standards and OMHAS rules and regulations. Ability to write, evaluate and teach appropriate clinical documentation.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet and databases.
