Summary
Provides manufacturing support and works with design engineering on assigned programs. Creates detailed Work Instructions, time standards, builds schedules, develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, cell manufacturing, material flow, visual management, and leads manufacturing launch for new/revised products. Works with Supply Chain, external suppliers, internal machine shop, assembly, and quality in the fulfillment of customer orders for all programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
· Create Work Instructions, define processes and procedures, coordinate tooling, interface with customer on manufacturing related product build issues and actions.
· Work collaboratively with Company team leads and manufacturing technicians to provide direct support in the fabrication, assembly, integration and test of aircraft parts and components.
· Responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes, process documentation, tooling management, and project workflow including task sequences, Work Instructions for fabrication, assembly, integration, and material flow
· Provide review and guidance to Engineering during tooling design and specification requirements to best utilize manufacturing processes and techniques
· Lead and support manufacturing project planning and scheduling to assure a seamless execution and delivery of products and services
· Interface with engineering, operations, and suppliers to ensure requirements and specifications are flowed down into products.
· Utilize and manage MRP process to develop a product line-of-balance, assure long lead material deliveries and order points to meet schedule commitments.
· Manage project activities, build-of-materials, manufacturing plans, visual management, metrics, LEAN implementation, and implement corrective/preventive action plans
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Education and/or Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
· Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Manufacturing Engineering (or another Engineering discipline)
· Five (5) + years of engineering experience, preferably in an aerospace environment
· Experience with fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
· Experience in all elements of manufacturing from design development, re-engineering, to assembly/integration and test.
· Working knowledge of build-to-print packages and assembly drawing documents.
· Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
· Experience in Lean/Six Sigma, 6S, and Continuous Improvement is desirable.
· CATIA, Solid Works and/or other CAD Design package experience a plus
Required Skills:
· Language: Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
· Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, & percentages.
· Other Abilities: Knowledge of sheet metal and aerospace materials preferred. Must possess basic knowledge of geometric tolerance. Must possess thorough knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic. Must possess 3D modeling capabilities. Must have knowledge to apply general use of databases/spreadsheets.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand 6 to 8 hours a day. Must be able to work with their hands, arms and be extremely accurate. Must be able to walk, sit, stoop, or kneel on a regular basis. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
· Customary physical demands for an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving high-speed machinery and mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to machine oils, metal fillings, acetone, paints, solvents, grease, cutting fluids, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock or vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Pay: $78,200.00 - $100,000.00 per year
