Mechanical Test Engineer Job at RFA Engineering
RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking several growth oriented entry level to experienced candidates to be part of our engineering team in Dubuque, IA. You will work with our engineering staff to provide highly engineered designs for our clients using state of the art engineering tools.
Test Engineer
This position is associated with testing of materials, components and hardware that controls vehicle operation and functions. Testing methods include bench testing, automated software testing, and full or partial machine testing. Job responsibilities include:
- Performs basic product design, testing and/or analysis work for operator station components of construction equipment.
- Analyze and synthesize industry and internal standards to determine and create required test plans.
- Physically inspect tests while gathering and deciphering data digitally using provided software.
- Provide ongoing test updates to design and management.
- Collaborate with production employees in experimental shops to complete testing.
- Provide written reports of testing outcomes.
- Develops recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors before implementation.
- Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications.
- Analyzes assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for routine problems or projects.
- Executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technology related field.
- A proven mechanical aptitude through employment, personal experience and/or education
- Candidates must have excellent communication, teamwork and analytical skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Desired Attributes
- Previous machine operations and/or troubleshooting experience
- Experience with HVAC, mechanical, and/or electrical systems on vehicle platforms.
- Understanding of controller communication protocols (CAN/LIN), along with recording and analyzing data.
- Testing experience (Test set up, execution, analysis and results reporting)
