Medical Assistant Job at WellTrust Medical Group
Medical Assistants support practitioners and other members of The WellTrust Medical Team by providing information, services & assistance to patients. Medical Assistants work under the Patient Operations Manager(s) to assist with maintaining efficient patient flow and quality care during clinic hours.
Responsibilities:
- Answer and triage inbound calls, emails, texts, and voicemails.
- Maintain patient charts in the EMR with clear and effective documentation.
- Coordinate and confirm patient consultations.
- Provide appropriate patient education based on medical directives and company policies.
- Convey medication orders to the pharmacy from the providers as needed.
- Identify and thoroughly document adverse event information and appropriately escalate concerns to the Patient Operations Manager(s).
- Coordinate additional patient services as directed by the Provider team.
- Perform administrative tasks needed in order to maintain and enhance overall clinic efficiencies to deliver timely, optimal, and quality patient care.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, staff training, and weekly team huddles.
- Work with other team members and managers to implement daily duties and new programs.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED is required; Associate Degree is preferred.
- Medical Assistant Certification required.
- Minimum of 4+ years in health education, patient navigation, and/or health clinic patient assistance field preferred.
- Current CMA or RMA is required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multi-tasks.
- Strong cognitive abilities, including verbal reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical ability.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to learn, take instruction, and apply it to daily operations/tasks.
- Highly proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office software platforms, and experience using a document management system. Aptitude to learn other computer systems including EMR platforms.
- Multilingual capabilities are preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
