The job of the Merchandising Coordinator is to assist in creating an environment where products are highlighted in eye-appealing displays, customers and employees can expand their knowledge of wine, and employees are going above and beyond to exceed expectations and provide incredible customer service.

Product (What We Do):

• Ensure appropriate inventory levels
• Unload deliveries, stock shelves, displays and backroom while recognizing how seasons and holidays affect product sales
• Maintain department appearance by rotating product, sustaining product levels, properly shrinking outdated product, checking expiration dates, ensuring shelves and displays are well-merchandised
• Build displays and ensure others are building displays according to the company merchandising standards/guidelines
• Perform other tasks essential to the proper functioning of the operation as needed

Customer (What We Believe):

• Proactively approach customers, assist them in locating products, provide suggestions and answer any questions about products
• Build relationships by proactively engaging customers to try products and provide personalized solutions and encourage future business
• Familiarize self with products in the department as well as inventory in the backroom to assist customers in locating items and product availability
• Seek to expand personal knowledge about products and trends and share with customers

Results (What We Measure):

• Assist in coordinating the activities of team members, ensure tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently, and department runs smoothly
• Train employees on all merchandising functions by administering training programs
• Administer various store programs when needed
• Support the relationships with the Store’s various Producers/Vendors to drive sales
• Partner with Management; identify products to sell, set sales goals, gather, and analyze financial results

Required Experience, Education, Skills:

• Customer service experience preferable in a food retail, grocery, restaurant, retail or wine shop setting
• Possess a passion for Merchandising

Preferred Experience, Education, Skills:

• Experience ordering products and controlling inventory
• Managerial/supervisory experience
