Job Description: As the Perishables Manager for America’s Food Basket, you will be responsible for all aspects of Fresh Food Merchandising, including trade partner negotiations, development of sales driving programs, circular development, P&L responsibilities with respect to achieving sales and profit objectives and achieving excellent relations with both external and internal customers.

We are looking for an individual who has good to very good understanding of all Fresh Departments or excellent knowledge in one or more areas, but willing and able to grow in the remaining departments. The Fresh Departments(Perishables) include Produce, Meat, Seafood, Floral, Deli, Prepared Foods, and Bakery.

This role would spend time at the New Hyde Park headquarters and in the field, helping to support, coach and mentor employees at store level with the goal of helping to achieve Operational Excellence. This individual would need to perform and enjoy both the back office work and the store operations activities to be ultimately successful in the role.

Responsibilities:

· Negotiating with trade partners to achieve favorable terms for our members.

· Development of short and long-term sales programs that are relevant and executable to build a better consumer shopping experience.

· Development of weekly circular, with focus on driving customer traffic while balancing profit objectives for our members.

· Achieving Sales and Profit targets as defined in annual budgets.

· Developing professional and positive working relationships with members.

· Communicating all changes and regulations concerning Safety and Sanitation.

· Communicating all relevant programs, product availability, trends, and relevant miscellaneous information to members on a timely basis.

· Working with member stores to achieve consistency in operational excellence with respect to Perishables (Fresh Foods). This will include working in the stores on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

· 5+ years of Fresh Operations(Perishables) or Fresh Merchandising preferred

· Very good to excellent written and verbal skills.

· Passion for operational excellence is a must.

· Strong attention to detail.

· The ability to quickly analyze sub-par performance and develop and execute plans to rectify.

· Competent computer literacy skills preferred, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and the ability to learn new systems and process when necessary.

· Must be customer focused and team oriented, with the ability to work effectively with others.

· Spanish as a second language preferred.
