Join our growing outpatient physical medicine practice! You will be working with our team of Athletic trainers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors and massage therapists. One on one patient care, including aquatic therapy.

Physical Therapy Clinic
Physician Extender

Schedule and hours are variable and subject to change based on organizational need

Recognizes, manages and rehabilitates injuries . Provides techniques for prevention of injuries.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and manages injuries and determines whether a referral is necessary.
• Maintains a medical file on each patient and acts as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.
• Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a physician.
• Develops conditioning programs for injured and non-injured patients.
• Reviews post-visit instructions with the patient.
• Assists with gathering data under the supervision of the chiropractor ,physical therapist , physician or nurse practitioner.
• Administers treatments under the direction of the physician.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree and completion of an Athletic Training Program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

Certifications:

• Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) certified by National Athletic Trainers Board of Certification (NATBOC).
• State licensure as an Athletic Trainer (AT) if required by state law.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.

Complexity of Work:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a sometimes stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

• Participation in training programs related to the ATC field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion including handling and lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• May be required to drive to other locations.'
