Regional Sales Manager - Industrial Automation - Cincinnati, OH Job at GOGcG

GCG is currently hiring for a Regional Sales Manager for our Industrial Automation division. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations of an outside sales team to ensure strong customer relations and continued growth within an assigned territory. You will manage, coach, and develop the technical sales associates for your assigned region while maintaining exemplary business relationships with our vendors.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, based out of our Cincinnati, OH area. However, frequent travel to customer sites and customer facing events is necessary.
- Plan, oversee, and manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and direct a technical sales team within a defined region
- Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans to meet corporate business growth objectives
- Frequently review market reports to identify customer needs and evaluate existing price schedules and discount rates
- Prepare and present periodic sales reports that reflect sales volume, potential sales, and new business opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relations
- Develop, schedule, and drive vendor sales staff coordination
- Participate in Vendor Sales Account planning
- Direct channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, goals
- Attend applicable trade shows and customer facing events to promote company image
- Meet with key clients and assist sales representatives to address customer concerns and provide support with contract negotiation
- Facilitate collaboration between sales department and other business units of GCG
- Assist with establishing budgets and controlling expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements
- Monitor the activities and product offering of competitor distributors in the assigned territory
- Schedule, coordinate, and develop content for sales meetings
- 5+ years of recent experience within industrial automation distribution strongly preferred
- 5 to 7 years of technical sales, marketing, or engineering experience required
- In depth, demonstrated knowledge of sales principles, tactics, and market penetration
- Proven proficiency with Salesforce or comparable CRM, ERP, and MS Office Suite
- Proven track record of effective leadership and management of a dispersed sales team
- Ability to travel throughout the territory as is required to maintain vendor relationships and develop sales associates
