The Role:
This position provides a lead role in the Enterprise Application Development department and is part of a team that evaluates, designs, implements, maintains, and enhances CWU information systems through application development and business analysis in support of business needs. This position is responsible for providing expertise and guidance in the maintenance, planning, development, and testing of CWU processes and is responsible for mentoring and coaching both entry and journey level developers. Job Duties
- Analyze, identify, implement, and maintain custom applications based on analysis of business needs
- Analyze, identify, implement, and maintain requested upgrades, enhancements, and changes to the PeopleSoft ERP system
- Develop detailed design specifications, definitions, performance criteria, and testing methods
- Solve complex and/or critical systemic issues or problems which have no clear solution. Devise methods and processes to resolve complex problems that deviate from routine or available solutions for resolution and may include research of multiples sources before determining solution
- Write, develop, and document operational procedures
- Evaluate business needs, objectives and goals, research products available, and develop procedures to best meet those needs
- Follow established change management processes to migrate changes across environments in a smooth and controlled manner
- Design and deliver solutions to create value and/or efficiencies for the end users and customers of the ERP system
- Build and consume APIs to allow for integration with systems both inside and outside of the University
- Responsible for making significant design and implementation decisions that are in the best interest of the university. Must take into consideration development standards and best practices, existing integrations, etc. Decisions impact multiple departments/divisions/systems on campus
- Stay abreast of the latest IS technology and remain highly technically competent. Analyze and assess industry direction and analyze new capabilities that may be applied to the University to enhance business processes, solve business needs, or improve system performance
- Assign and check development work of other team members
- Provide training and technical guidance other team members in the development, design, and use of the PeopleSoft ERP system as needed
- Serve as technical lead for software development projects as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Significant experience with high-volume, mission-critical applications and databases.
- BA/BS from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in Computer Science or related field.
- 5 years of development experience in PeopleTools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with PeopleCode, SQL, and HTML.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.
- OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Java and other programming languages.
- Project management skills.
- Experience with Higher Education
- Experience mentoring colleagues and/or students from a variety of backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex development problems.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary: $80,717 - $105,000 annually
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
