Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) is recruiting to fill a Research Analyst position in Madison, WI. This position works daytime hours, Monday-Friday and allows for the opportunity of a combination of remote and in-office work. This can be discussed in more detail throughout the interview process. This position supports SRSTC located in Mauston but works out of the satellite office on the Mendota Mental Health Institute’s campus on the north side of Madison.
SRSTC opened in 2001 and houses Wisconsin's Sexually Violent Persons Program. The goal of the center is treating and teaching patients with a history of sexual aggression toward the goal of providing a safe return to the community. SRSTC is a 500-bed treatment facility and is part of the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS). Position Summary
The Research Analyst is responsible for identifying research needs of Wisconsin’s Sexually Violent Persons (SVP) program and developing and directing research projects to inform policy and promote best practices. The position is primarily responsible for:
- Collection and statistical analysis of data.
- Publication of research findings.
- Reviewing research and synthesizing findings from internal and external research.
- Developing spreadsheets and databases to maintain critical program data and trains others in maintaining these resources.
- Conducting scientific research studies to provide information for use in making data-driven decisions.
- Providing consultation and recommendations in program and policy planning and program evaluation based on research expertise.
These responsibilities entail the use of specialized software and methods and the application of quantitative and qualitative information.
Salary Information
The starting pay is $30.00-$35.04 per hour (approximately $62,400-$72,883 per year). This position is classified as a Research Analyst – Senior and is in pay schedule and range 08/03. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current of former employees is based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction.
Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SRSTC or medical personnel approved by the facility after their start date.
All state employees are required to report their COVID vaccination status, whether they are vaccinated or not, and must provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information within their first two weeks of employment.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Experience collecting, processing, and analyzing data for research purposes and/or program evaluation and planning.
- Experience collecting and analyzing data using statistical software, such as SPSS, SAS, R, STATA.
- Experience publishing research findings and/or writing complex reports that include data and analysis.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience developing data collection instruments and other tools to facilitate research or program evaluation.
- Experience working with forensic or mental health populations or in a secure treatment facility.
- Experience promoting and applying research ethics and protection of human subjects.
- Experience preparing and presenting research findings, including reports and Power Point presentations, in external forums, such as professional conferences.
