Your career can take flight at the TWA Hotel, scheduled to open in spring 2019 at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. MCR and MORSE Development are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Gift Shop Attendant for the first-class, 512-room destination hotel that has the historic Eero Saarinen designed 1962 TWA Flight Center. Bringing the magic of the Jet Age to JFK Airport, the hotel will feature ultra-quiet guest rooms with runway views as well as 50,000 square feet of Meeting & Event space that can host up to 1,400 people. Six restaurants, eight bars, high-end retail outlets, a museum, a rooftop pool and a 10,000-square-foot observation deck will contribute to a one-of-a-kind guest experience.

We are looking for a result-driven retail Part Time Sales Associate at the TWA Hotel to be responsible for all sales job duties, from generating leads to closing sales. Primary Responsibilities:

· Greet customers when they enter the shop, offer assistance in locating merchandise, and respond to questions regarding merchandise.

· Display merchandise in a neat, eye-appealing manner.

· Restock items as necessary, check expiration dates, and discard expired items.

· Keep storeroom neat and clean.

· Complete customer purchases, process all payment types, and process returns, refunds, and exchanges. Verify customer identification as required.

· Maintain appropriate cash levels in cash drawer, turn in all property monies and receipts, and ensure deposits/cash drops are verified.

· Follow checklist for opening and closing shop.

· Secure shop and monitor customer activity to prevent losses due to merchandise theft and damage.

· Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to captain (manager).

· Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.

· Anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.

· Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.

· Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.

· Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

· Reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop; ability to move, lift and carry items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds; stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.

· Additional duties as assigned by Manager

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent

· At least 1 year of related work experience

· Previous customer service experience preferred.

· Excellent administrative, interpersonal, organization, written and verbal communication skills

· Organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

· An aptitude for self-motivation

· A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach

A flexible schedule that allows you to be available days, nights, holidays and weekends based on the demands of the hotel
